The restaurant did not have your typical waiter/waitress to wait on you....Every table had an iPad attached to it and even the bar area had portable iPads for the customers. All food/drink was ordered through the iPad and different employees would bring you your food/drink as your entered each part of your order.....Throughout your meal, you could view your updated bill as it changed and we paid using the iPad at the end. It even computed our tip and we had our receipt emailed to us to save on paper.
I can see the increase in technology like this being utilized in other restaurants in the future. Our students need to be properly educated and prepared for the onslaught of technology that is going to be surround them the rest of their lives.

Subject: Tech pix from Honduras
This picture was taken on my mission trip to Choluteca, Honduras (the 2nd poorest city there) two weeks ago. Last year we helped lay the foundation for this building which has 2 classrooms, this computer lab and a bilingual classroom. These computer classes are in addition to the regular school the students attend. Technology is every where!
This is a photo of my iTunes library. iTunes can be used to connect with students and capture their attention for a lesson. I use them for announcements, slide shows, announcements, or to illustrate a particular concept, for example, Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway" to draw students into the American Revolution.

Teaching and learning 2.0 is...
a way to use technology creatively to help students to succeed in school and work
a way to use communication for a range of purposes.
using technology to deepen understanding of subject matter
a way to connect students to the outside world
1. It is the evaluative and design using a holistic, educational view of integrating academics, technology, environment, accessibility, and resources.
2. It is creating opportunities for instruction dynamically, and in the now.
3. It is instructing, modeling, and molding the global citizen academically and responsibly teaching responsibility.
4. It is instilling the aspects of inquiry: laying foundations for experiential, investigative learning as well as information retention.
What is teaching and learning 2.0?
--Using collaboration through the use of technology to use in the classroom.
--Engaging students using real-world data and tools that they will learn or encounter in their lives
--Using innovation and creativity to contribute to classroom and to the community, both local and globally.
--Enabling students to learn relevant, real world contexts.

*Allows learning to continue outside of the classroom
*Connects parents, students, teachers, community, politicians, and administrators
*Outside sources and not just a teacher can assist students in learning
*Students are able to be creative, problem solve, think critically, communicate, and collaborate in a variety of ways
What is teaching and learning 2.0?
*Students will communicate and learn from sources not just the teacher in the room
*It ties community, parents, students, teachers, adminstrators together in the students learning journey
*Learning for a student can happen literally everysecond that they are contected to technology
*Connecting diverse cultures, religions, lifestyles from nations around the globe into students world
* Politically it levels the playing field with all nationalities being able to advance intellectually
* Allows students to weave 21st century interdisciplines into all of the subjects.

What is teaching and learning 2.0?
~Teaching actively through technology: Students need the technology and critical skills in order for them to become productive members of society.
~Teaching through technology will enhance teacher lessons.
~Students need to learn about the responsibility when using technology and become aware of the positives and negatives.
~ Students need to relate and contact the "outside world" or community using technology.
WHAT IS TEACHING AND LEARING 2.0?
-I think "Teaching and learning 2.0" is the educational environment we are heading to in the near future. Learning will be based on the application of material which relies heavily on critical thinking and problem solving skills. Technology will most likely be the primary method in providing the information to the teachers and students. This wealth of information will help enhance teacher performance and foster the educational growth of the students.

Creativity is a problem for me. That final (higher) level has always been difficult. That's where my low moral compass comes in. I steal most of what I "create".
